Instruction, A Main Draw at Turnbull Bay Golf Course
The Turnbull Bay golf course has been commended by many for its unique environmental focus and natural beauty, but for many players one of its main draws isnt the beauty of the course, but the instruction they can get on it.
Sharon Gilmore is a LPGA certified golf pro for Turnbull Bay. Gilmore has always had a passion for golf and teaching, so when she had the opportunity to combine the two it provided her with the perfect career.
"Its such a pleasure to come to a beautiful environment everyday and help people become a little better than they were the day before," said Gilmore. Gilmore works with students to identify their area of need and guides them through the learning process. "Being a good listener really helps me help my students," said Gilmore. "Once I determine what they need most, we take baby steps to make the learning process fun and easy."
In the last few years, Gilmore has noticed a comeback for the sport thanks in part to superstars like Tiger Woods. "Every weekend people watch what the pros are doing, and they get inspired. Even children get involved."
Gilmore provides golf instruction for players of all ages, and in recent years the number of children between age four and six has increased greatly. "I teach some young superstars who are sure to be the ones to watch in another ten years."
Gilmore describes golf as a great family activity. "Golf isnt just for the rich and famous anymore. Everyone can play, and its something you can do for a lifetime."
